Randy is correct, 450 gas and LP tractors used 4.125 flat tops for standard elevation when built. 400 used step heads for LP until IH started using the same head as a 450 LP on them. Then flat head but 4 inch pistons when built.All I finished refurbishing a Farmall 400 a year ago and I had to put dome pistons and an LP head on it since the original gas head was cracked way past the point of repair.
